The Tee Set

The Tee Collection — Peter Tetteroo (vocals), Dill Dennink (guitar, flute, banjo), Joop Bloom (drums), Franklin Madjid (bass), and Hans Vehicle Eijck (keyboards) — was among a small number of acts from Holland that managed to get onto the American charts in the past due 1960s; others included the Surprising Blue (“Venus”) as well as the George Baker Selection (“Small Green Handbag”), both of whom experienced exactly the same American representative, Jerry Ross. Documented in 1969, “Ma Belle Amie” was a nice little bit of pop/rock and roll first released in Holland, where it offered 100,000 copies (a significant hit in the tiny Dutch marketplace). “Ma Belle Amie” was noticed by Ross and certified for release in the us, where it became their just major hit.
