René Ornelas

Gifted musician of Mexican descent René Ornelas (blessed René Víctor Ornelas) started getting involved with well-known music while singing and playing trumpet in his father’s group, the Mike Ornelas Orchestra, through the early ’50s. After teaming up with René Herrera and piecing together a duo known as René con René, “Lo Mucho Que te Quiero” (THE GREATER I REALLY LIKE You) and “Angelito” (Small Angel) became his main hits. René con René toured world-wide and all over the U.S., captivating a large number of supporters. On March 10, 1990, these were inducted within the Tejano Music Hall of Popularity in San Antonio, TX.
