Karen Ashbrook

Karen Ashbrook, a virtuoso from the hammered dulcimer and flute, gained knowledge by playing in the roads of European countries, Asia and the center East. She transferred to Washington, D.C. in 1983, and became a member of the chamber folk trio Ceoltoiri, which released Sterling silver Apples of the Moon and Celtic Ribbons. Ashbrook, also an associate from the Jewish ensemble Ruler David’s Harp, agreed upon with Maggie’s Music for the solo profession and released Knock on the entranceway and Hillsides of Erin. She’s also created a reserve, Playing the Hammered Dulcimer within the Irish Tradition.
