The Windbreakers

The Mississippi-based power-pop group the Windbreakers primarily comprised the duo of singer/guitarists Tim Lee and Bobby Sutliff. After debuting in 1982 with Meet up with the Windbreakers, a seven-inch EP released independently Big Monkey label, the music group enlisted aid from manufacturer Mitch Easter for the follow-up, 1983’s Any Monkey Using a Typewriter, which highlighted an appearance with the Bongos’ Richard Barone. 2 yrs afterwards, the Windbreakers released their full-length debut Terminal; one of the guests had been the Rainfall Parade, who created and played on the cover of Television’s “Glory.” (In 1986, Lee and Rainfall Parade member Matt Piucci also teamed in the medial side project Eliminated Fishin’.) After Lee and Sutliff reconvened in 1986 for Operate, documented with Easter and long-standing affiliate Randy Everett, the Windbreakers disbanded, even though following year’s AN ALTERNATIVE Kind…, essentially a Lee single project, appeared beneath the band’s name. Following a handful of single tasks, the Windbreakers reunited in 1989 for the self-produced AWARE OF Bobby and Tim, implemented in 1991 by Electric powered Landlady.
