The Kickstands

The Kickstands were among writer and producer Gary Usher’s studio amalgams that used veteran L.A. program players in the first to mid-’60s to create record after record of hot fishing rod and surf music. With players through the so-called Wrecking Staff, including Jerry Cole, Hal Blaine, Earl Palmer, Leon Russell, Glen Campbell, and with Chuck Girard managing a lot of the vocals, the Kickstands officially released one record, Black Boot styles & Bicycles, on Capitol Information. The record had a relatively darker hue than the majority of Usher’s sunlight and browse productions, and paths like “Loss of life Valley Operate” and “Gradual Ride South” are worth searching for for enthusiasts of Usher as well as the hot fishing rod/browse genre.
