The Energetics

The Energetics were a non-descript, self-contained music group of varying users from the mid-’70s and early ’80s whose claim to popularity was one album and two singles on Atlantic Information, all made by Eddie and Brian Holland. Main members had been Melvin Franklin, Roscoe Mills, Joey Lites, Herbert Johnson, and John Edges; their 1st known documenting, “Me and My Lady” b/w “If initially,” arrived on Top Best Documents in 1975. It do so badly that they didn’t record once again before Holland brothers required them in to the studio room to record the DROP to Earth recording in 1978. The riff-laden LP includes a few great places, but lacked the Holland brothers’ Midas touch. Both singles, “Living By the effectiveness of Your Like” and “DROP to Globe,” flopped. They resurfaced under a fresh name spelling, the Energettics (that was most likely a typo), on Cobra Information with “You Make Me Nothing at all” b/w “Rainy Times and Mornings.” It passed away upon release just like the earlier three singles, as well as the music group hasn’t surfaced since.
