Los Hijos de la Montaña

Los Hijos de la Montaña is a duo made up of Tucson-based musician Sergio Mendoza and Portland-based singer Luz Elena Mendoza (zero connection). Both are of Mexican history, which has affected their individual tasks, especially Sergio’s intricate, retro mambo-style music group Sergio Mendoza con la Orkesta. Luz Elena’s group Y la Bamba also includes several Latin affects into its eclectic indie folk. Because of this fresh task, both Mendozas had been combined by Los Lobos’ saxophonist/maker Steve Berlin to collaborate on the wholly exclusive record that combines organic indie pop with lush Latin customs. Teeming with ornate brass areas, strings, synths, and guitars, their self-titled debut premiered from the Cosmica label in-may 2015.
