Critical Mass

The Berkeley, California-based ska-punkers Critical Mass assembled vocalist/saxophonist Michael Valladares, guitarist Jeff Kamalian, bassist Moose and drummer Chris Barry-Smith. Inspired by sources which range from jazz to funk to hard rock and roll, the group increased in 1993 in the ashes of Bay Region outfits like the Sound, Chill Aspect, the Viberaiders as well as the Elephant Guys; after creating a following over the Western world Coast membership circuit, Vital Mass released their debut record CEASE, IGNORE IT in 1997. Bamboozled implemented three years afterwards as well as the self-titled discharge was released in fall 2000.
