An associate from the Boys from the Lough from 1994 to 1997, Newman is constantly on the weave elaborate melodies and spirited instrumentation being a soloist and in cooperation with Irish harper Maire Ni Chathasaigh, with whom he’s toured and documented since 1988. Playing electric guitar from age four, Newman primarily focused on United kingdom folk music. His passions shifted as a teenager, to jazz. Newman’s passions in music veered towards traditional Irish and Scottish music in 1985.
