With her multi-layered vocals and energetic stage performance, Senegal-born griote (female griot or oral historian) Dial Mbaye is in the verge of international success. Noticed by many for the very first time in the film Tableau Firralle in 1997, Mbaye enticed important acclaim with her uplifting functionality at the Skillet African Music Festival in the Democratic Republic from the Congo town of Brazzaville in August of 1998.
