Motown alumnus Lamont Dozier produced Zingara’s R&B ballad one “Love’s Getting in touch with,” which included business lead vocals by Adam Ingram. The Los Angeles-based quartet included guitarist/vocalist Wali Ali, violinist Karen Coleman, drummer Small Williams, and bassist Rick Jones (who also performed on Carl Carlton’s 1981 yellow metal LP Carl Carlton, which detailed the million-selling one “She’s a negative Mama Jama”). Released for the separately distributed Steering wheel label, “Love’s Contacting” visited number 29 for the R&B graph in past due 1980. Dozier created the group’s self-titled LP, that was released in June 1981.
