CIV

Named because of its founder and lead singer, CIV mixes traditional hardcore with an upbeat philosophy and catchy rhythms that consider their cue from Adam Ant. The vocalist, Anthony Civocelli, was previously an associate of New York’s Gorilla Biscuits, which released one record before splitting up in 1992. Civ opened up his very own tattoo parlor on Longer Island before developing a new music group, which include bassist Arthur, guitarist Charlie, and drummer Sammy (bandmembers select never to reveal their last brands). The band’s knack for sometimes wearing gold-lamé matches and powder-blue amusement matches at gigs helped them get yourself a record offer, and their initial album, Set YOUR TARGETS, premiered in 1995. Thirteen Time Getaway implemented in 1998.
