Zyklon

An off-shoot of Norwegian dark steel legends Emperor, Zyklon was founded by guitarist/bassist Zamoth (aka Samoth, as he’s known in Emperor), who wished to concentrate on the newer and aggressive areas of the last mentioned band’s style. Weighed against Emperor, Zyklon includes a even more hard-edged and much less atmospheric or majestic audio; its members have got selected the broader severe metal tag, instead of black metal, to spell it out their music. (They will have also made a spot of distinguishing themselves from Zyklon-B, another, previously, Emperor off-shoot.) Zyklon was founded in 1998, but their formal lineup took a year or two to fully get together, solidifying in the entire year 2000 with drummer Trym (also of Emperor) and bassist/business lead guitarist Destructhor (Myrkskog) completing another instrumental slot machine games. Their first record, Globe of Worms, arrived on Candlelight Information in 2001 with Daemon from Limbonic Artwork handling business lead vocals. The lyrics for Globe of Worms had been written completely by one-time Emperor drummer Bard “Faust” Eithun, additional highlighting the Emperor connection.
