Zorch

Created in Boston but seemingly away of somewhere in remaining field, the music of multi-instrumentalists Zac Traeger and Sam Chown of Zorch is most beneficial referred to as kaleidoscopic. Utilizing a variety of devices (including classic modded keyboards, pedals, and an Omnichord), the experimental indie duo carves psychedelic pop tunes out of mayhem, with Chown’s rambunctious drumming offering the backbone for his or her uplifting vocals. Zorch’s exclusive sound produced them a difficult group to describe in the first years (while dominated by keyboards, these were a long way off from synth pop and although Dave Fridmann productions had been an impact, symphonic pop didn’t quite match), but this uniqueness also produced them a straightforward sell after they resettled in the live music capital of Austin, Tx in ’09 2009, where their visible show stood right out of the rest. They continued to win regional music polls, and found compliment from Paste, Spin, and Esquire publications after the launch of their 1st EP, Captain Bartok, this year 2010. A limited-edition cassette, Cosmic Gloss/E.M.F., adopted in 2011.
