Drummer Joseph “Ziggy” Modeliste was among the primary members from the Meters, a pioneering funk music group located in New Orleans. He’s widely known as the innovator of a method of playing referred to as second-line funk. Being a single musician, he released the record Zigaboo.Com in 2000, about 2 decades following the Meters’ split up. Modeliste self-produced the discharge, which was released with the indie label that he founded, JZM Information. He also made an appearance on many Meters’ recordings, aswell as others by such performers as the Rolling Rocks, Harry Connick Jr., Aaron Neville, Keith Richards, Teacher Longhair, John Fogerty, Dr. John, Robert Palmer, Allen Toussaint, Patti LaBelle, and Lee Dorsey, amongst others. A FRESH Orleans indigenous, the drummer makes his house in Berkeley, CA. He proceeded to go home towards the Crescent Town in 1997 and 1998 to execute at the brand new Orleans Jazz & Traditions Festival.
