Zephyr

This late-’60s Denver group is perhaps most obviously as the starting place for guitarist Tommy Bolin, who was simply still in his teens if they recorded their first album in 1969. A fairly regular slab of bluesy, weighty rock, it produced the very best 50. Apart from Bolin’s prolonged hard rock and roll riffing, it prominently presented the business lead vocals of Candy Givens, who affected a blues-wailing present such as Janis Joplin. But she didn’t possess the entire throat or guts to back again it up, finding yourself nearer to also-ran feminine psychedelic performers like Lydia Pense (of Chilly Bloodstream). Zephyr documented one more recording before Bolin remaining for stints with Wayne Gang, Deep Crimson, along with a single profession; the group continued through the entire 1970s.
