Zé Luís Mazziotti

Zé Luís Mazziotti started like a musician in 1966 in the vocal group Canto 4, being successful first prize in the We Event de Música Popular Brasileira (Event of Brazilian Popular Music, Television Record, São Paulo). Mazziotti worked well initially in the Canto Terzo, starting for Johnny Alf in duo with Elodi. For the reason that membership, he found use Paulinho Nogueira, Vera Brasil (his instructor and musical godmother), Adilson Godoy, Alaíde Costa, and various other artists. Then worked in a number of famous night clubs of São Paulo from the 70s. In 1974, he released the strike “Até Quem Sabe” (João Donato/Lysias Ênio), organized by César Camargo Mariano and contained in the soundtrack from the cleaning soap opera Operating-system Inocentes (Television Tupi). In 1976, Mazziotti was asked by Ivan Lins to record “Dona Benta” for the soundtrack from the O Sítio perform Pica-Pau Amarelo series from Television Globo. In the ’70s, he participated in the Pixinguinha task, executing around Brazil with Elizeth Cardoso, Ângela Maria, Zezé Gonzaga, Miltinho, Jamelão, and Sílvio César, carrying out shows also on the Funarte hall as well as Alaíde Costa, Antônio Adolfo, and Luís Eça. In 1979, Mazziotti released his first single LP, organized by Dori Caymmi and Gilson Peranzzetta and with particular visitor Nana Caymmi. 2 yrs later, he earned the Chiquinha Gonzaga award for his second record, the 3rd party Sinais, among the ten greatest productions of the entire year. In 1982, he was asked by Gal Costa to record in duo with her Vitor Ramil’s “Estrela, Estrela,” on her behalf LP Fantasia. In 1985, Mazziotti created the LP by Pedro Paulo Castro Neves and Michel Legrand, organized from the latter. Shifting to Paris, France, to market his last recording, he was asked to take part in the Printemps de Bourges event and in the Jazz Event of Good. Still surviving in Paris, Mazziotti participated in the 1992 Novo Event da MPB (Television Record) in Brazil, becoming awarded as the very best Interpreter. In 1994, he came back to Brazil, documenting his first Compact disc, Zé Luís Mazziotti, made by Leny Andrade, and, within the next 12 months, he created Cauby Peixoto’s Cauby Canta Sinatra, taking part also in the display Feliz Bossa Nova with Leny Andrade, Miéle, Roberto Menescal, and Wanda Sá. Since 1997, he worked well in duo with Célia, having recognized with her the displays Stravaganza and Ame and documented in 2000 Pra Fugir da Saudade, focused on compositions by Paulinho da Viola. His incursions in the samba world likewise incorporate the documenting of “Preciso Me Encontrar” (Candeia) in the tribute Compact disc Eterna Chama/Candeia.
