Zámbó Jimmy

Given birth to Imre Zambo (the name Jimmy supposedly originated from an American sweetheart who couldn’t pronounce his name correctly), Zámbó Jimmy rose from obscurity in Budapest’s slums to be one of the biggest selling & most controversial numbers in contemporary Hungarian music. After a stint in the communist-controlled children’s radio chorus, Jimmy produced his way towards the U.S., operating like a journeyman piano participant occasionally for a couple of years just before a go back to Hungary in the middle-’80s. Upon his come back, success came just gradually, with a strike or two and a event appearance occasionally. In 1993, he performed a cover track for any Hungarian version of the film soundtrack, which garnered him some severe interest, catapulting him in to the career he previously been looking for all along. He released albums at an instant pace, and received Hungarian music honours each year at this time of his profession. non-etheless, Zámbó Jimmy’s popularity came at a cost. His appearance lent itself to a variety of jokes, and he was maybe known even more for character imperfections than for his music sometimes (he was well known to be always a drunken womanizer packaging a weapon, and was regarded as violently protective of his stature and ego), and important success never emerged. His music was pointedly saccharine, with gentle ballads not only the primary of his audio, but the entire of his audio (apart from a stray Elvis cover occasionally). Because of this, critics looked former Zámbó Jimmy and only more “critical” artists. Regardless of the lack of important success, Jimmy continuing to sell information, topping the graphs and reaching silver and platinum position frequently. In 2001, within a bizarre convert of occasions, Zámbó Jimmy dedicated accidental suicide, evidently capturing himself in the top while endeavoring to convince his wife that his weapon acquired no bullets.
