Ethereal electro-pop group Yumi Zouma began in 2013 like a home-recording opportunity by 3 friends in Christchurch, Fresh Zealand. After posting files using the Cascine record label out of Brooklyn, these were invited to become listed on its roster and ready their first launch, the four-track EP I. Issued in early 2014, the record was quickly embraced from the blogosphere, offering through multiple vinyl fabric pressings and resulting in a cooperation with influence Air flow France, the at that time disbanded neo-disco duo. The set lent fresh vocals to Yumi Zouma’s cover of their last solitary, “It Feels Great to become Around You,” before unique lead vocalist Kim Pflaum remaining the group and was changed by Christie Simpson. By enough time EP II found its way to 2015, the music group acquired performed in Australia, the U.K., France, Canada, both coasts from the U.S., and across New Zealand, where they opened up for Lorde. With bandmembers relocating to NY, Auckland, and Paris, they documented their full-length debut, Yoncalla, while jointly on tour. Offering the lineup of Simpson, Josh Burgess, Sam Perry, and Charlie Ryder, it had been released in-may 2016, also on Cascine.
