Your Friend

The alias of Lawrence, Kansas-based singer/songwriter Taryn Blake Miller, Your Friend began like a one-woman show, with Miller training her enigmatic songs inside a live setting via her atmospheric guitar work and soaring voice. Through person to person and a flurry of high-energy home shows, Miller ultimately shifted to bigger locations, frequently enlisting a revolving cast of regional musicians to back again her up, and finally landing opening slot machines for nationwide touring rings. A recording cope with Domino Information was struck, and Miller started focusing on her debut EP with co-producer Jordan Geiger (Medical center Boats), who helped Miller flesh out her dreamy indie rock and roll anthems with levels of bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals. The producing very much buzzed-about Jekyll/Hyde premiered in early 2014. After a significant tour assisting the EP, Miller came back house to Kansas to create the material on her behalf 1st full-length, which she documented with maker Nicolas Vernhes (the Battle on Medicines, Deerhunter) in Brooklyn, NY. The extremely textured LP Gumption showed up via Domino in January 2016.
