Your Black Star

Your Black Star formed in Louisville, KY, through the winter of 2001 around vocalist/guitarist Jeremy Johnson and drummer Andrew Osborn. They released Pleased Country in 2003 through Iron Compass Information, the same calendar year that both welcomed bassist Kevin Ratterman (ex-Elliott) to their rates. A divide with Japan’s Drum:Kan implemented in nov 2004 before Ratterman exited early another calendar year to pursue various other passions. Brandon Duggins was recruited as his substitute as Your Dark Star’s initial full-length, Audio from the bottom, was issued abroad. The rock and roll troupe performed the 2005 and 2006 SXSW celebrations, the last mentioned one preceding tour schedules home and overseas that included displays with VHS or Beta and the brand new Pornographers. The atmospheric and lush rock and roll of Sound from the bottom, which was thought to concurrently evoke components of the Treat, early U2, as well as the Jesus and Mary String, was finally released in america on Wonkavision in Oct 2006.
