Yohimbe Brothers

Naming themselves following the African underlying used to improve male performance, longtime collaborators Vernon Reid and DJ Reasoning united in 2002 as Yohimbe Brothers and released Entrance End Lifter, a dense album of guitar-fueled turntablism. Both New York-based performers first came jointly in the first ’90s as founding associates of the Dark Rock Coalition. At that time, Reid led Living Color, a short-lived however enormously effective hard rock-band driven generally by his electric guitar playing, and Reasoning participated within the music group Eyes & I. Following demise of both Living Color and Eyes & I, both artists partook in various tasks, both mutually and separately, before finally producing their partnership public in 2002 as Yohimbe Brothers using the release of Entrance End Lifter on Ropeadope Information. A month-long cross-country tour implemented in October.
