Following a 2009 dissolution of his longtime strap Apollo Sunshine, guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Sam Cohen started recording by himself inside a bedroom studio, growing on a single indie psych appear with understated country details that he’d caused in his previous strap. Cohen find the moniker Yellowbirds for the task, enlisting some close friends to greatly help him flesh out the tracks, and finally released several singles and in early 2011 a debut recording, THE COLOUR. To tour to get the recording, Cohen constructed a full-time music group to back again him up comprising drummer Brian Kantor, multi-instrumentalist Josh Kaufman, and bassist Annie Nero. When focusing on tracks for the follow-up recording, Cohen thought we would write solely with an acoustic guitar, wishing to create tracks within an unpolished type before ornamenting them in the studio room. This writing procedure led to 2013’s sophomore recording Songs through the Vanished Frontier.
