Yazoo, known in the U.S. as Yaz, had been a short-lived but quite effective ’80s synth pop duo. They produced in 1981, after synthesizer participant Vince Clarke still left Depeche Setting; Clarke acquired penned the vast majority of the band’s debut record, Speak & Spell, like the TOP U.K. strike “I SIMPLY Can’t Get A sufficient amount of.” Moyet, who previously performed in an range of rings, had lately exited the Screamin’ Ab Dabs and positioned an advertisement in Melody Manufacturer seeking new innovative companions.
