Yard Beat

The average person members of Backyard Beat have a thorough history in Jamaican ska-reggae dating towards the 1960s. Multi-instrumentalists Dwight Pinkney and Carl Ayton created Yard Defeat after spending quite a few years working like a support band for famous brands Bunny Wailer, Dennis Dark brown, Gregory Isaacs, Barrington Levy, and Prince Much I. Accompanied by trumpeter Bobby Ellis — who previously worked well for Bob Marley and Tommy McCook — the three-piece required their attempts of ’60s Jamaican ska and released their debut recording Straight From Backyard through Beatville in 1997.
