Yalloppin’ Hounds

Acquiring their name from a longtime joke one of the musicians of Illinois Jacquet & Big Strap, the pop-friendly Yalloppin’ Hounds have already been probably one of the most industrious functions in the brand new York golf swing scene. Molding hip-hop sensibilities with traditional golf swing beats, this seven-piece group is definitely led by its founding users: bandleader and saxophonist Joey “G-Clef” Cavaseno and ex-Toasters trumpeter Brian “the Sledge.” Cavaseno as well as the Sledge are veterans of Illinois Jacquet & Big Band and also have been playing in rings and tinkering with golf swing music since child years. Echoes of Cab Calloway and Louis Armstrong are obvious. Yalloppin’ Hounds’ debut launch, Ghetto Swing Great, premiered in summer season 2000.
