World Atlas

Globe Atlas formed in Brooklyn, NY in 2006 while a car for the homemade four-track recordings of frontman Brian Groux. During the period of another four years, the band’s lineup included famous brands Jessica Healy, Jenny Logan, Jonathan Nigro, Lauren Ashley Strenge, Alex Haager, and visitor member Fred Thomas (who at that time was most widely known for his use the likeminded group Sunday Looks Good if you ask me). Globe Atlas’ twinkly, shambling music, graced with Groux’s unmistakably Stuart Murdoch-like vocals, welcomed evaluations to Belle & Sebastian; the group’s audio also offered a nod to contemporaries just like the Hermit Crabs as well as the Mathematics and Physics Golf club. The group’s self-titled debut EP premiered on Magic Marker Information in the springtime of 2010.
