Wolfgang Holzmair

Wolfgang Holzmair is a baritone, especially noted for his artwork tune recitals. He received his school education on the Vienna School of Economics. After graduating, he started voice studies on the Vienna Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. In 1981 he gained second prize on the ‘s-Hertogenbosch Competition in holland, and gained the Vienna Musikverein International Competition for Lieder Performers in 1982. Through the 1980s he created his operatic profession, performing in Bern, Switzerland, and Gelsenkirchen (Germany). He started like a Mozart professional, portraying Figaro in The Relationship of Figaro, Guglielmo in Così lover tutte, and Papageno in The Magic Flute. But his 1st wide success arrived after he sang the component of Hans Scholl in Udo Zimmerman’s opera about the wartime anti-Nazi level of resistance motion in Germany, Die weiße Rose.
