Witch Hazel Sound

Originally referred to as WITCHHAZEL, the WITCHHAZEL Sound mix a definite devotion towards the Beach Boys’ 1965-1971 art pop period with a far more contemporary fondness for the post-psychedelic atmospherics from the shoegazers. Created in Kent, OH, in 1992, the group coalesced round the primary of singer Tag F., guitarist and keyboardist Kevin Coral, and bassist Mike Break up, who would generate additional musicians mainly because songs needed. Their first launch was the two-song “Simply Don’t Try” solitary, released on the neighborhood Bubblegum Smile label in 1993. A break up solitary with another north Ohio music group, the Mommyheads, adopted in 1994; Witch Hazel’s contribution was known as “Coughing Syrup.” The group released another 7″, the Beeswax EP, in early 1995 before putting your signature on with Flydaddy Information to finally record their debut recording, Landlocked, later on that year. WITCHHAZEL then vanished for near three years. If they came back in 1998, both their name and their lineup had been extended. Trumpeter Jason Richardson became a full-time person in the band, that was now referred to as the WITCHHAZEL Sound. Released around the Australian neo-psych label Camcorder Obscura, the extended EP, It’s All Accurate, also released a refined folk-rock influence in to the band’s audio, comparable to Mercury Rev’s Deserter’s Tracks, which arrived around once. The music group spent 3 years documenting the follow-up, This Globe, Then your Fireworks…, that was finally released in November 2001 on Hidden Plan Records.
