Witch Hats

Melbourne, Australia’s enigmatic Witch Hats might have shaped in the mid ’00s (in fact, 2005, according to many sources), but their music scavenges all of the prior years for inspiration to forge a menacing mixture of post-punk, indie, sound, goth, and garage area rock — everything underpinned with an insidious pop level of sensitivity. Nevertheless, the PARTY clearly sticks out amongst these many affects, and its previous drummer, Phill Calvert, was actually recruited to execute on Witch Hat’s debut EP, Wounds of just a little Horse, that was released in November 2006 through In-Fidelity Information. Once they going from tour, founding bandmembers Kris Buscombe (vocals/acoustic guitar), Tomas P. Barry (acoustic guitar) and Ash Buscombe (bass), had been became a member of by drummer Duncan Blanchford, and, after regularly knocking their countrymen lifeless in concert over another 12 months, this same lineup documented Witch Hat’s first genuine full-length, Cellulite Spirit, in 2008.
