Wintersun

Pursuing his departure in 2002 from Finnish Viking steel costume Ensiferum, former Arthemesia vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jari Mäenpäa began a new task known as Wintersun, with drummer Kai Hahto (late of grindcore group Rotten Appear). Fusing the folk-littered impact of countrymen like Amorphis and Finntroll using the technicality, acceleration, and high melodic articles within neo-classical power steel, Wintersun’s eponymous debut record premiered in 2004 by Nuclear Blast. After eight many years of digital hibernation, Wintersun reawakened and released their sophomore record, Period I, in 2012, also on Nuclear Blast.
