He found Kingston to sing along with his idol, Alton Ellis, whose tone of voice is very much like Jarrett’s. Signing up for the Flames within the middle-’60s to back again Ellis, he shortly branched from his very own to record some albums which frequently feature Marley and Ellis addresses, and self-penned ghetto plaints as evocative as Bosch paintings.
