William Ruhlmann

William Ruhlmann was the favorite music critic for THE BRAND NEW York Town Tribune from 1983 to 1991 as well as the newspaper’s movie theater critic from 1989 to 1991. He is a contributor to Goldmine mag since 1984, and his function for the mag continues to be anthologized in such books as The Frank Zappa Partner (1997), Classic Rock and roll Break down (1998), The Joni Mitchell Partner (2000), as well as the Beatles Break down (2000). He was the associate editor of Relix mag from 1987 to 1991, and he provides written for many other periodicals. He provides contributed liner records to varied albums, like the multi-disc container sets Group Family portrait (1991) by Chicago, Light Sox, Green Lipstick…and Stupid Cupid (1993) by Connie Francis, The Tune Is You (1994) by Tommy Dorsey and Frank Sinatra, and THE ENTIRE Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong on Verve (1997). He composed the illustrated biographies THE ANNALS of the Pleased Deceased (1990), The Doorways (1991), Led Zeppelin (1992), John Lennon (1993), Green Floyd (1993), The Moving Rocks (1993), and Barbra Streisand (1995). He’s a contributor towards the Scribner Encyclopedia of American Lives as well as the Encyclopedia of Documented Sound, and was the pop editor from the centennial model of Baker’s Biographical Dictionary of Music artists (2001). His background of the American music business in the 20th hundred years, Breaking Information, was released in 2004. He is a regular contributor to all or any Music Information since its inception. He’s a voting person in the Country wide Academy of Documenting Arts and Sciences.
