William Fitzsimmons

Before earning evaluations to Iron & Wine and Sufjan Stevens along with his hushed, eclectic folk music, singer/songwriter William Fitzsimmons honed his abilities in Pennsylvania. Given birth to in Pittsburgh to two blind parents, both of whom had been living-room music artists, he started playing piano and trombone in primary school and trained himself guitar like a junior-high college student. As time passes, he also discovered to try out banjo, melodica, ukulele, and mandolin. While going after a master’s level at Geneva University, Fitzsimmons began monitoring a few of his music on home documenting devices. These self-produced recordings had been compiled jointly and released as 2005’s Until WHENEVER WE Are Ghosts, a solid debut record that made an appearance during Fitzsimmons’ period working being a mental wellness therapist. As time passes, Fitzsimmons begun to draw in a pursuing on MySpace. Obviously, it didn’t harm that his music started turning up on several television soundtracks, as well, including Grey’s Anatomy, General Medical center, Lifestyle of Ryan, and Military Wives. Another self-produced record, Goodnight, made an appearance in 2006, inspired intensely by his parents’ divorce during his youth. By this aspect, Fitzsimmons had resolved on a definite audio: a soft combination of folk-rock and electronica put on carefully created (and frequently autobiographical) music that, at their finest, delivered a noiseless psychological punch. He transported the theme of divorce into his initial official studio record, 2008’s The Sparrow as well as the Crow, which handled a recent divide along with his wife. Released this year 2010, Derivatives lightened factors up by concentrating on electronica remixes of his previous work (and a cover of Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a woman”), and 2011’s Silver in the Darkness discovered Fitzsimmons confronting his demons with help from visitor performers like Julia Rock. Lions, made by Loss of life Cab for Cutie’s Chris Walla, appeared early in 2014, accompanied by the mini-LP Pittsburgh in 2015.
