Bergsma studied in Stanford College or university with the Eastman College, and in 1946 he took a posture in the Juilliard College. He participated in the curricular reforms produced at the institution through the 1940’s. He later on moved on towards the College or university of Washington, Seattle. A tonal composer, Bergsma’s functions are lyrical and texturally orthodox, although he’s known for his good technical abilities. He later on employed avant-garde concepts in his function.
