Will Keys

Will Keys was created in 1923 within the Blackley Creek area of eastern Tennessee, the tenth of 11 kids. He began playing the banjo at age eight, steadily developing his personal unique two-finger selecting style. After offering in World Battle II, Keys came back to his house condition, settling in Grey, TN, in 1950, and started to work with the Eastman Chemical substance Business, where he continued to be for 42 years, retiring in 1984. Secrets earned the old-time banjo competition in the famed Galax Fiddler’s Convention in 1978, and his bell-like shade and melodic playing possess gained him the admiring respect of a complete era of banjo players. In 1996 he was granted a National History Fellowship through the Country wide Endowment for the Arts.
