Wild Flag

Wild Flag may be the bicoastal task of Portland, Oregon indie rock luminaries Carrie Brownstein, Janet Weiss, and Rebecca Cole, and Washington, D.C.’s Mary Timony. Brownstein and Weiss are most widely known as two-thirds of Sleater-Kinney, Cole as the drummer for the Minders, and Timony for Helium and her single function, but these females have played jointly in different combos over time. Brownstein and Timony released an EP in 2000 as the Spells; Weiss and Cole play jointly in the Darkness Mortons, and Sleater-Kinney toured with both Minders and Helium. Cole, Weiss, Timony, and Brownstein started playing jointly as what would become Crazy Flag in-may 2010, but didn’t announce these were a music group until that Sept. The group curved out the entire year with songwriting, documenting, and a tour from the Pacific Northwest and Western world Coast. By Apr 2011, Crazy Flag became a member of with engineer Chris Woodhouse to record their self-titled debut record, and its discharge implemented on Merge Information that Sept. The bandmembers’ active schedules and length from one another ultimately led Crazy Flag to disband in 2013.
