Wil Maring

b. Lillian Maring, c. 1965, Waterloo, Iowa, USA. Maring was raised in Makanda, Illinois. She started playing electric guitar and writing music from an early on age group. With her musical partner Tag Stoffel (b. Munich, Germany; fiddle/mandolin), she founded the group Shady Combine for the 1989 gig in Carbondale, Illinois. Others in the first line-up had been Kelley Sims (electric guitar) and Geoff Maring (bass). The music group produced some well-received albums: MANUFACTURED IN The Tone (1991), Songs FROM THE Ranch And Range (1996), Bottomlands (1998), Shady Combine: Live (2005). Leading Shady Combine, Maring appeared through the entire USA in addition to making travels to Japan and from 1992 European countries, attracting significant acclaim in Germany. This resulted in a spell when Maring and Stoffel resolved in Germany, developing a new edition of Shady Combine with local music artists. In 2001, Maring and Stoffel came back to the united states where they collected together a number of the first Shady Mix associates to form a fresh model of the group. Maring’s songwriting displays her curiosity about nation music, bluegrass and folk forms from many lands (she’s a get good at’s level in anthropology), and her function demonstrates considerable range in designs and this content of lyrics. In 1998, she was successful from the Chris Austin Songwriting Competition at MerleFest in NEW YORK. Maring provides appeared on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, and likewise to her use Stoffel and Shady Combine, she has made an appearance in collaboration with virtuoso guitarist and fiddler Robert Bowlin.
