WIFE may be the shadowy electronic pop task of Irish vocalist/songwriter Adam Kelly, who all also recorded 3 albums using the acclaimed experimental dark metal clothing Altar of Plagues. When that group disbanded, Kelly searched for a different musical path and appeared to his like of digital music for motivation. WIFE’s debut EP, Stoic, found its way to past due 2012 on Throwing Snow’s Still left Empty label and combined elements of commercial, 2-stage, and ambient music into broodingly gorgeous songs. The next year, WIFE agreed upon to Tri Angle Information; for his initial full-length, Kelly collaborated with manufacturers the Haxan Cloak and Vex’d’s Roly Porter. The effect was the lighter, even more eclectic What’s Between, that was released in June 2014.
