Whore Paint

Whore Paint certainly are a feminist sound rock and roll/post-punk trio from Providence, Rhode Isle comprising vocalist Reba Mitchell (Manufactured in Mexico, Set up of Light Choir), drummer Meredith Stern (Teenage Waistband), and guitarist Hilary Jones (Arcing). Their audio combines shredding electric guitar riffs and monstrous, tumbling drums, along with Mitchell’s showstopping vocals, which very easily switch from intense shrieking to otherworldly crooning with nary a moment’s see. Her lyrics are organic, visual, and unflinching, concentrating on physical mistreatment, political problems, and cultural discontent. Whore Color produced in early 2010, as Stern and Mitchell proved helpful at Providence-based non-profit arts firm AS220. They documented their debut EP, Menarchy, in 2011, and Anchor Human brain released it being a 7″. After many shows around the brand new England region, they agreed upon to Providence sound rock institution Insert Information and released their debut LP, Swallow My Bone fragments, in 2013. Whore Color were named among Choice Press’ 100 Rings You should know in 2014, plus they performed displays with Lydia Lunchtime, Alice Handbag, Downtown Boys, and many more. Translation Reduction released the band’s second LP, Ultra Audio, in November of 2015.
