The sister duo of Wendy Flower and Bonnie Flower (their real names, not aliases), Wendy & Bonnie recorded one album in the past due ’60s. Genesis is usually enjoyable, if naïve, harmonized light rock and roll with psychedelic, jazz, and folk affects. It is amazing given their sensitive age groups — Wendy Blossom was simply 17, and Bonnie Blossom just 13, when it had been recorded in past due 1968, as well as the set wrote all the material around the LP. The Plants grew up inside a musical family members in the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay Region, and ahead of recording independently, did several garage-psychedelic singles within Crystal Fountain; Wendy sang business lead, and Bonnie performed drums. Jazz celebrity Cal Tjader place them towards the attention of the jazz label he documented for, Skye, which produced the Wendy & Bonnie LP its lone endeavor into rock and roll. Genesis was fairly sparsely created, the plans highlighting their harmonies and pensive paisley music, but did reap the benefits of support by some best Los Angeles program music artists, including drummer Jim Keltner and guitarist Larry Carlton. The recording premiered in 1969, but stalled when Skye Information folded the next year. The loss of life of maker Gary McFarland in 1971 additional discouraged the duo. Although they do sing back-up vocals on several Tjader albums plus some jingles and history vocals at Dream Records, they under no circumstances recorded their very own material once again, and split up in the first ’70s. They do perform music individually in the next decades, Wendy Bloom issuing a children’s music cassette, and Bonnie Bloom once rejecting an invitation to become listed on the Bangles. The uncommon Genesis record was reissued with reward paths by Sundazed in 2001.
