Weekend was an instantaneous off-shoot of Adolescent Marble Giants, the post-punk music group known for his or her lone influential LP, Colossal Youth. Songwriter and guitarist Stuart Moxham created the Gist, while vocalist Alison Statton created the jazzier Weekend with Simon Booth. Spike became a member of the collapse after Statton and Booth relocated from Cardiff to London. A trio of singles in 1982 was adopted in November of this year using the full-length La Varieté. Live at Ronnie Scott’s made an appearance the following yr, using the music group dissolving by 1984. The ’81 Demos compilation was released over ten years later. Statton continued to record several records through the entire past due ’80s and ’90s, with Spike and Ian Devine. Much less considerably, Booth was briefly in Functioning Week.
