Conspicuous from the others of Bristol’s electronica scene with the lack of trip-hop or jungle leanings within their productions, WAY TO AVOID IT Western have instead pursued straightahead house and trance with closer ties to intensifying British isles dancefloors than American hip-hop. The duo of Jody Wisternoff and Nick Warren initial came together within the middle-’90s; Wisternoff was a veteran manufacturer who had initial recorded at age 14 (with fellow Bristolian home performers Smith & Mighty) while Warren was a high-profile Balearic DJ and clubnight-promoter inspired by the noises of Madchester. The duo started documenting, and by 1996 their one “The Present” had turn into a big mover on dancefloors and the air as well, because of a British advertisement that used the tune.
