Waxahatchee

Named following the lake not definately not her parents’ home in Alabama, Waxahatchee may be the name of D.We.Con. songwriter Katie Crutchfield’s music group, which started in 2011 like a single project, appearing 1st by means of a break up cassette with Chris Calvin. Katie have been composing tunes since her early teenager times and was using her sister Allison in the scrappy punk group P.S. Eliot for some time. That group disbanded around enough time of a significant separation, and Crutchfield stole aside to her parents’ nation house where she documented the songs that could become Waxahatchee’s lo-fi debut full-length, 2012’s American Weekend. The confessional if relatively brittle songs for the project’s debut obtained Waxahatchee more publicity, and Crutchfield started performing around Philadelphia, where she got moved. She constructed a music group to back again her up live, and in 2013, sophomore record Cerulean Salt premiered to generally positive critical testimonials. The music group toured internationally for a lot of the next season, gaining enthusiasts and listeners as its profile grew. In early 2015, it had been announced that Waxahatchee got agreed upon to Merge Information for the U.S. discharge of third record, Ivy Tripp. The record saw discharge in April of this year.
