Wastelander

Wastelander hail in the decadent industrial, umm…wasteland of Lansing, MI, that your band’s two protagonists — vocalist, guitarist, and bassist Matt Battle (ex-Harbinger) and guitarist and support vocalist Sean “Xaphan” Peters (Summon, Lucifer’s Hammer, Dark Psychosis, etc.) — could have you believe may be the seventh group of hell (or thereabouts). Certainly, that is the attitude and sonic visual imparted with the group’s 2008 debut, Wardrive (offering program drummer Ian “Pit Viper” Sugierski, of Superchrist), which pours its primitive brew of dark metal from the same kind of keg of bitter as Venom’s pioneering initiatives from 1981 or 1982, and deals it behind cover artwork having a childlike sketch of the so-funny-it’s-scary-but-still-funny war container.
