Warren Chiasson

Get good at vibraphonist Warren Chiasson was created and raised in Nova Scotia and produced his proceed to NY in 1959. A pioneer from the four-mallet technique, his mastery from the device wasn’t well known — except by fellow jazz music artists — until a 1988 concert with Benny Goodman at Carnegie Hall, a 50th wedding anniversary celebration from the historical 1938 Spirituals to Golf swing concerts that record maker/jazz impresario John Hammond structured. On January 16, 1988, Chiasson performed with Benny Goodman at Carnegie Hall inside a historic entertainment of the initial concert, with Chiasson acquiring the portion of an unavailable Lionel Hampton. After shifting to NY, he became a member of pianist George Shearing’s quintet and caused Shearing until 1961 to business lead his personal group. A third recording, Stage/Counterpoint, for the Empathy label, premiered in 1988. As a young child, Chiasson’s affects included Charlie Parker aswell as pianists Paul Bley, Bud Powell, and Shearing. Details of their designs can be noticed on his unique compositions. Chiasson could be noticed on B.B. King’s record Blues ‘N’ Jazz, on MCA Information, which gained a Grammy Prize in 1984. His various other session credits consist of Roberta Flack’s self-titled debut for Atlantic, Hank Crawford’s Centerpiece record for Buddha/Arista, Les McCann’s Les Has the Strikes for Mercury, Helen Ward’s Songbook, Vol. 1 for Mercury, and Chuck Wayne’s Vacationing for Progressive.
