Wally Fawkes

b. 21 June 1924, Vancouver, United kingdom Columbia, Canada. Fawkes transferred to the united kingdom while still extremely youthful and in the middle-40s was recruited by George Webb, head of one from the initial rings to attract well-known attention through the trad-jazz increase. In 1947 he still left Webb along with fellow sideman Humphrey Lyttelton to become founder person in the last mentioned’s new music group. This musical romantic relationship lasted until 1956 and was rewarding for music artists and fans as well. After departing Lyttelton, Fawkes used several other market leaders, including Bruce Turner and Sandy Dark brown, with whom he documented in 1954 and 1956, respectively (both periods being reissued about the same 1989 record), and he also led his very own semi-professional music group, the Troglodytes, a far more loosely swinging music group than a lot of his contemporaries in the occasionally staid UK trad picture. Afterwards, Fawkes, a gifted, Sidney Bechet -inspired clarinettist, whose musical skills have produced him a significant name over the trad circuit, thought we would play freelance, generally showing a proclaimed choice for obscure pubs in the London region. For several years, Fawkes, using the byline ‘Trog’, drew the strip-cartoon ‘Flook’ in the Daily Email, the script that was compiled by vocalist George Melly. Fawkes continuing his sporadic jazz profession in to the 80s and 90s with many excellent information, including reunions with Lyttelton and Ian Christie, another sparring partner in the heyday of United kingdom trad jazz.
