With Tony Staub (mandolin, vocals), Paul Wykowski (guitar, vocals), and Adam Sullivan (bass), the York, PA, trio Waitin on the Train takes on acoustic Appalachian folk-and-bluegrass-inspired music with today’s rock-and-punk-influenced tempo and vocal delivery. Their debut recording, 2006’s In the road of Pain, presented entirely original materials, though they play with an guaranteed mastery from the idioms they’re modernizing.
