Produced in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2013 by Margrét Rán Magnúsdóttir and Andri Már Enoksson, the duo originally met up to get into the annual Músíktilraunir contest; after composing a small number of music, the duo got into your competition and gained. With Rán on lead vocals and synths and Már on saxophone and synths, the duo documented their debut, Stress, using the EP’s synth- and sax-laden wish pop sketching its inspirations from famous brands Surroundings, Portishead, and Massive Strike, while also keeping their particular Icelandic appear. Adding Ólafur Alexander Ólafsson on electric guitar and bass soon after its launch, the group spent period documenting their follow-up, 2015’s Circles, while also beginning to create what would become their debut recording. With a lot of the recording created in Rán’s house studio — using its envious sights across Reykjavik — the paths were taken up to 4th member and drummer, Einar Hrafn Stefánsson’s studio room in a peaceful area of the town. Working with maker Brett Cox (Jack port Garratt, Tusks), the studio’s area and its encircling areas helped mildew the audio of the ultimate launch, using its icy, dream-like pop influenced as very much by artists like the Weeknd as well as the xx as Rihanna. The ensuing debut recording, Figure, premiered in 2017.
