Vivian Girls

Deriving their name from your ill-fated characters presented in the task of writer/illustrator Henry Darger, the Vivian Girls (never to become confused using the “create pop” duo from the same name) certainly are a Brooklyn-based trio whose gritty, lo-fi tunes nod to seminal indie pop functions like Black color Tambourine, Talulah Gosh, and Tiger Capture. Made up of guitarist/vocalist Cassie Ramone, bassist Kickball Katy (Goodman), and drummer Ali Koehler, the Vivian Ladies sprang in to the indie circuit in 2008 with a small number of 7″ singles released on the passel of little brands, including “Crazy Eye” (Takes on with Dolls Information), “Orphanage” (Woodsist Information), and “I CANNOT Stay” (In debt Information). Their self-titled debut full-length premiered on Mauled by Tigers and In debt in Sept that same 12 months. The record became something of the sensation as well as the trio spent the entire year touring and getting fans around the world. Their quickly documented follow-up recording, Everything Goes Incorrect, premiered in late summer time of 2009. After switching out drummers in the summertime of 2010 (Ali became a member of Best Coastline and was changed by Coasting’s drummer Fiona Campbell) and going for a break for various other projects (Ramone shaped Infants with Woods’ bass participant Kevin Morby, Goodman shaped La Sera with Brady Hall), the group strike the studio room in past due 2010 to record their third record. Share the Pleasure premiered in Apr of 2011 on the brand-new label Polyvinyl.
